How much does Amazon Prime cost in Italy?

Amazon states a price of EUR 49.90 a year or EUR 4.99 a month. The annual form works out at EUR 4.16 a month, while twelve monthly charges come to EUR 59.88: a difference of EUR 9.98 a year for exactly the same service. The Italian fee has not changed since September 2022, when it went from EUR 36 to EUR 49.90 a year, which makes it one of the few digital subscriptions to have stood still while the others rose.

Annual, in almost every case. The break-even point falls at ten months: anyone expecting to use Prime for longer pays less by handing over EUR 49.90 in one go. The monthly form only makes sense for genuinely seasonal use, say two or three months focused on particular purchases. The practical problem is that a great many people choose monthly out of caution and then never revisit it, paying twenty per cent more for years without noticing.

Yes. Amazon offers thirty days' trial to eligible customers, but at the end of the period the membership converts automatically into a paid one, with no explicit confirmation requested. Yes, access to Prime Video is included in the Prime fee and is not charged separately. Two caveats affect the real cost, though. The second is that the additional channels available inside Prime Video are separate subscriptions, each with its own price, and are not part of what the membership includes.
