On operators' published lists, opening alone runs from EUR 70 to EUR 120 depending on the cylinder: EUR 70-90 for a European cylinder, EUR 80-100 for a double-bit lock, EUR 90-100 for a security cylinder and EUR 110-120 where a defender protects it. The call-out fee is added on top where it is billed separately. These are starting prices published by a single operator, not a national tariff: they help you recognise a demand that is off the scale rather than establish what is fair.

Do not confuse the two, though: the cedolare secca is still a tax on rental income, which the landlord pays on the rent received. What is cancelled is the registration cost, not the taxation of the income.
Registering a rental contract in ItalyThe fixed part is EUR 200 of registration tax plus EUR 16 of stamp duty for every 4 written sides and in any case every 100 lines, so a contract kept within four sides costs EUR 216. Proportional taxes are added to that base when the preliminary contract provides for money paid up front: 0.5% on a confirmatory deposit, 0.5% on price advances outside the scope of VAT, and 3% on any penitential deposit. Since almost every compromesso involves a deposit, the real cost is nearly always above EUR 216, and it grows with the sum handed over at signature.

A connection is needed when the property is not yet connected to the network and requires a technical quote from the distributor.
