Does the Family plan work if we do not live together?

What happens when Student verification runs out?
The Student plan at EUR 6.49 a month requires proof of enrolment at an accredited institution and has to be re-verified periodically. If verification is not renewed the subscription does not stop: it moves to the full price of EUR 11.99 a month. That almost doubles the spend and happens with no action from the subscriber, so the expiry date is worth noting. No refund is available for months already charged at the full rate.
Does the free month always apply?
No. The introductory month at zero euros, shown by Spotify on the Individual and Student plans, is reserved for people who have never had Premium or have been away from it long enough. The per-person figures for Duo and Family are stated arithmetic, dividing the fee by the maximum number of accounts allowed, and hold only when the seats are genuinely filled. The history of increases comes from a journalistic source and is used solely to date them, never to establish the current price.
Why this confidence level
The four prices come from Spotify's own Italian commercial page, read on the day of publication, so they are exact rather than estimated. Confidence is high, but the review interval is deliberately short for a reason the guide itself documents: this fee has been changed twice in two years, most recently in September 2025, and a price list moving at that rate goes stale in weeks.
