On an Italian energy bill the commodity is often less than half the total: system charges, distribution and taxes weigh as much as the energy consumed. Comparing the per-kWh rate alone leads people to pick the wrong tariff.
Solar has two bills: the one you pay the installer and the one left after tax relief. The second depends on a deduction calendar that tightens every year.

Fifty per cent of the spend where the work is on the dwelling used as the main home by whoever holds ownership or another real right over it, and 36 per cent in all other cases, on a maximum of EUR 96,000 per dwelling. Those are the rates set for spending incurred in 2025 and 2026. From 2027 they fall to 36 per cent on a main home and 30 per cent elsewhere, and from 2028 to 30 per cent with the ceiling cut to EUR 48,000. The date that counts is when the payment is made, not when the system is switched on.
